NEW WINE

AN INSIGHT INTO OUR APPROACH WITH NW23

THE BRIEF

New Wine is a Christian organisation that hosts one of the largest Christian festivals in the UK that brings together thousands of believers for a week of worship, teaching, and community building.   

In 2022, the team at New Wine sought to expand their merchandise offerings for that year, and following a recommendation, they reached out to us to collaborate. NW required a full merchandise management service for their event, which encompassed design support, creative direction for a range of merchandise, on-site sales during the event, creation of an online store, and fulfilment of online orders before and after the event. 

After initial meetings, it was clear that their needs and our services aligned. And so, we began our partnership to make the vision a reality. 

INITIAL DESIGN & PROOFING

To begin the creative process, we worked with NW’s creative department to utilise their designs and bring them to life on a variety of different products. We used our experience to offer ideas for how the designs could be used on a product, and which decoration method would be best suited. 

We love coming up with new and innovative ideas for merch design as we believe that every merch collection should have its own unique identity.  

As part of this process, we created visual mock-ups to help NW visualise the different ideas. It is always fun to play around with different concepts and the hard part is always narrowing it down to a select few. Once we have our chosen items, we move on to create a more in-depth visual proof to be signed off before production, after this has been approved, we can then proceed with pre-production samples. 

SAMPLING & PRODUCTION

Before starting production on major projects, we always create samples of each product line to ensure that the right garment is chosen, and that the client is happy with the quality.  

The key criteria for this particular project, as with most projects, was that the garments were ethically sourced and of high quality, while still maintaining a reasonable selling price.  

Once the garments were finalised, we then moved on to pre-production samples. After they were approved by the client, we could start creating content marketing materials for social media and the online store. 

WEB & DIGITAL MARKETING

Included in the package, we developed an online store that allowed NW to sell their products prior to and after the event. This was a great way to increase sales opportunities and offer attendees the option to pre-order merch and collect it at the event. It also provided a chance for those who couldn't attend the summer event to still purchase the products.

To build demand around the range, we organised a photo shoot to produce photo and video content for NW's social media channels, as well as images for the online store. 

EVENT MERCH MANAGEMENT

NW had a specific requirement that their merchandise partner must handle the on-site selling. This included the provision of all exhibition and retail display units, POS systems, inventory management, and staff. We aimed to design a versatile display that is easy to assemble, dismantle, transport and presents merch in a creative way. 

Thankfully, with all credit to our team member, Matt, we managed to tick all the boxes with our display unit! Made from re-purposing steel racking frames and custom-built wooden units, we created a masterpiece for our retail display. 

During the event, we assigned a dedicated team to handle sales, customer service, and inventory management. We were able to sell a significant amount of merch, to the extent that we had to restock some of the items for the second week. A great problem to have! 

POST EVENT

After concluding the on-site sales, we gathered the remaining inventory and updated the website for post-event purchases. We then allowed the team who worked at the event to take a well-deserved break, a job well done by everyone!
